Please keep in mind the age of your child as this could potentially be a choking hazard!!!
Materials: Any kind of yarn with work, I used some Sugar N' Cream that I had lying around, so it is 100% cotton, but really anything would work for this pattern.
Foundation Ch: ch 40 (could be less depending on the size of your child)
Row 1: dc in second ch from hook dc in each st until the end or the row
Rows 2-31 (or more): ch 2, dc in first st (instead of skipping first st to inc), dc in each st until the end of the row
Finishing touches: ch 80 (how many you chain is once again dependent on the size of your child), sl st into first sp in foundation ch at the top of the cape. Sc in each ch sp in foundation ch until the end of the row, ch 80 (or however many you did on the other side).
For Ruffle Bottom: Before making the ties at the top of the cape and after the last row in the cape, turn, ch 2, sc 4x in first dc sp, *sc in second dc sp from hook, 5dc in second dc sp from hook*. Repeat * pattern until the end of the row.
